Description
Zonker Fly
The Zonker Fly pattern is made from a strip of rabbit fur with hide attached known as a zonker strip. It is one of the modern American rabbit lure patterns taken from the original New Zealand rabbit patterns.
When water logged, the hide softens creating a fly that pulsates when retrieved. Trout and pike will often tear down at them when first cast or if fished on and intermediate on sinking line. Let the line pull the buoyant fly below the surface and the fish will often take them on the drop.
Great for picking out larger trout and pike.
