Squiggly San Juan Worm
The Squiggly San Juan Worm is a simple but effective class of san juan worm fly. People also sometimes call it Squirmy Wormie or wiggly worm. A San Juan worm is designed to imitate an aquatic worm and is known for it’s simplicity and versatility. You can fish for them year-round and in almost any body of water.
You can fish a San Juan worm just like any other nymph. The key is to just get it deep enough to float along the bottom of the river as that is where aquatic worms tend to live.
They are particularly good for fishing in murky water as the bright colors tend to attract the fish. If you are fishing around Spring time, don’t be afraid to fish with the bigger worms.
