Parachute Hopper Dry Fly

The Parachute Hopper fly pattern has become one of the most popular hopper flies across the USA. It is a buggy hopper pattern which is looks more realistic than the traditional foam hopper pattern. 

As a classic dry fly, the hopper pattern is great for big strikes.  It is a large enough pattern which works as an attractor on smaller streams or for targeting large trout anywhere in the world.  The low floating parachute design made out of white calf body puts the fly where the trout expect it. The the realistic looking legs bring the fish to the surface as they chase this great looking source of calories! 

The hopper fly can fish along the banks of grassy meadows during the summer heat which is about the time when grass hoppers are in abundance and the warm winds are blowing them out of their grassy habitats and into the streams.  It’s two legs and a stiff wing made with feathers make it a great fly for large rivers in late summer and into early fall (August and September).
