Description
Greenwell’s Spider
The Greenwell’s Spider fly pattern is a great traditional northern fly. Another great fly from Mike Harding’s book on Northern Spider Patterns. It is a general purpose olive imitation, either a dun or a nymph. This is a very important artificial fly world-wide.
The fly uses soft Greenwell hen hackle to make a spider version of this old favorite first designed by Canon Greenwell. This is a favorite fly for late summer when the river is low and the evenings long.
Usually available in the following hook sizes: 6 | 8 | 10 | 12 | 14 | 16
