Deceiver Salt Water Fly

The Deceiver Salt Water Fly is undoubtedly  one of the most famous and common saltwater fly in history and a proven fish catching pattern. It’s design is credited to Lefty Kreh, one of the most recognized fly fishermen in the world and therefore is usually referred to as Lefty’s Deceiver.

Lefty wanted to design a fly that won’t foul on the cast, have a fish shape and could be made in many lengths and with multiple color combinations. As such, the Deceiver fly was also designed to swim well but when lifted for a back cast, it would be sleek to have little air resistance. It’s profile matches so many baitfish and it important to have a variety of this fly in various sizes and colors in your saltwater fly box.
